ABOUT US
We love technology and so do we love the Earth!
Established in 2013, Green Internet of Things (GIoT) is a specialized IoT laboratory in Shahid Beheshti University. Our research group integrates undergraduate and graduate students working under the supervision of Professor Hamidreza Mahdiani, based in the faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. Our aim is to go green with Internet of Things, design and implement a total solution (Hardware and Software), and reduce energy consumption in IoT applications.
Our team is committed to research and finding solutions in the field of IoT with emphasis on consumption of green energy. We design the hardware and software architectures of our applications to maximize efficiency and minimize power consumption.
WHAT WE DO
- ResearchIn GIoT, we research on future demanding applications of IoT using communication modules, new sensors and energy-efficient micro-controllers.
- Architecture designWe design the whole architecture of our systems, including network infrastructure and master-slave nodes. We also determine suitable communication protocols and study how different the parts of the system interact with each other in order to form an efficient total architecture.
- Module and System ImplementationDesign and implementation of customized, small-sized PCBs and circuits, as well as software modules and functions for our systems is one of the other things we do at GIoT. We also implement user-friendly control interfaces to facilitate the user experience with our applications.
- Test and MainetanceIn the test phase, we load the system in order to check for potential hardware and software bugs and we fix them. In the maintenance phase, we update and upgrade our system (Software and Hardware) on a regular basis and also when it’s needed.
